Fire Alarm systems (Analogue addressable and conventional)

FFE design, provide and install Analogue Addressable and Conventional Fire Detection and Prevention systems. FFE also improve existing products… and therefore are able to deliver the most technically advanced and thoroughly tested Fire Protection Solutions. FFE Fire Systems are fully reliable, and backed by superior service. Keeping people safe is really the bottom line.

Panels

Fire Panels are at the heart of any fire system. Every device links back to the panel and communicates with it. In addressable fire systems every single device can be interrogated and analysed from the panel. This is very useful when system testing and fault finding. Another advantaged of this type of system is that you can isolate specific devices rather than whole zones which will allow for phased evacuation procedures which are particularly useful in large buildings. Also intelligent systems allow for phased evacuation procedures to be programmed into the system. Conventional systems are not as intelligent and can only see faults or fires in certain zones and not a specific area as with addressable systems.
Remote Terminals are also available which allow information to be distributed throughout a building. This is typically information from the main fire panel or specific information about the area the remote terminal is situated.

Detectors

This is the point of contact with a fire. Detectors can either be used to detect smoke, heat or both. When there is a change in air particles (smoke) or heat in the local environment the detector will be triggered which then sends a signal to the panel indicating a fire. There are also Beam Detectors which detect smoke in large areas such as a warehouse and Flame Detectors which detect flames by analysing the characteristics of flame movements.
Sounders/Beacons
Sounders and Beacons provide audio and visual indication that there is a fire. In most cases sounders are used. However certain circumstances arise where sound levels may be high enough that a sounder will not be heard so a beacon is used instead. This is usually the case in plant rooms where loud machinery operate, or perhaps where a sound alarm would be inappropriate such as in a sound studio or hospital operating theatre. It is also useful in places where persons with impaired hearing may be present such as a disabled toilet.

PA/VA systems (Public Address/Voice Alarm)

FFE provide and install PA and VA systems. PA and VA systems are used for a more 'friendly' approach. This is particularly useful for customer oriented businesses such as retail. PA can be used to distribute music around a shop primarily and if in case of a fire can be used to give instruction manually on procedures of evacuation. VA is an automated system that is activated by the Panel when a fire is detected and explains what to do in the event of a fire such as what exit to use and where the assembly point is.

Amplifiers

Amplifiers are the main control centre for PA/VA Systems and provide the inputs and outputs for all the devices such as microphones and speakers.

Speakers

Speakers come in various forms which allow them to be located in a number of different areas and situations.

Gas Extinguishing systems (special fire protection concept)

FFE provide and install Gas Suppression Systems. Sensitive technologies, objects and areas require a special fire protection concept. With special extinguishing systems using gases or inert gases to extinguish fire with care, you avoid extinguishing damages. Your systems and technical devices are rapidly back in operation.

Argonite Inert Gas

The Argonite system has been developed as a viable and environmentally friendly alternative for Halon. Tested and approved by regulatory bodies throughout the world, Argonite is effective against fires in almost all combustible materials and flammable liquids and is particularly suitable for use in areas where the use of water, foam or powder would be unacceptable.

FE-13TM (trifloromethane)

FE-13 is a gaseous agent, leaving no residue behind to damage sensitive equipment or require labour-intensive cleanup operations. It is chemically and biologically unreactive. It is safe for use in occupied spaces.

Emergency Lighting systems

FFE provides Emergency Lighting solutions. During power outages, providing building occupants with lighting in corridors, stairwells, ramps, escalators, aisles, and exit passageways prevents disorientation. Emergency Lighting, electrically illuminated exit and directional signs play an essential role in risk reduction.

CCTV surveillance systems - Remote Monitoring systems

FFE provide and install high quality CCTV systems. CCTV constantly provides vital evidence in a number of high profile cases. CCTV images give police vital clues in what otherwise could be unsolvable cases. The reliance on CCTV to "crack" crime has pointed out the importance of installing high quality systems and the vital role that CCTV managers play in ensuring that the systems are well-managed and maintained.

FFE provide and install high quality Remote Monitoring Solutions including analogue and digital cameras, video surveillance, CCTV remote surveillance, home monitoring, video over IP surveillance and monitoring, video over ISDN, remote surveillance software, e-Surveillance products, day/night video cameras, covert CCTV cameras, digital videos, Transmitters, Receivers, and many other Remote Monitoring technologies.

In the last 12 months FFE have introduced an exciting new service by building the first broadband central station with a build cost in excess of £500,000. This allows FFE to react immediately to client requirements, help prevent operator errors and guide new operators via the online help programme.

Hardware

We use encoders and decoders to convert and transfer the video and audio streams from cameras to the server for viewing and recording. Digital Video Recorders (DVRs) are used as a direct storage solution from the cameras rather than using computers and monitoring software.

Cameras

CCTV Cameras have quickly advanced recently and with digital recording produce very impressive pictures. They come with various formats such as black and white or colour, static or PTZ (Pan, Tilt and Zoom), day and/or night, covert and overt. These are just a few examples of what formats are available.

Monitors

These screens simply display a direct link to a camera or can be used as a viewer for the CCTV system.

Monitoring Software

The SecureLink NVRS is a full-featured, enterprise-wide monitoring, surveillance and recording software system which functions as an integration platform for several mission-critical security systems. Each system provides seamless digital video management, along with audio and serial data transmission and management across any IP network. The SecureLink NVRS Classic enables true convergence of CCTV and the enterprise Local Area Network (LAN) or Wide Area Network (WAN).

Access Control systems

FFE provides access control solutions, including Biometric systems, smart card management systems, Scan systems, multi-application smart ID cards, contact less smart card solutions, RFID radio frequency identification systems, photo identification cards, ID card printers, smart card-based authentication and digital signature software solutions, access control scanners and readers, and many other access control technologies...

Access control consists of readers, Door Controllers and a software system to run them, or more simply a Keypad and a Door Controller. When integrated with CCTV premises would be able to watch and monitor access to the building and see who is present and who is not.

Security systems, Intruder Alarms and Physical Security systems

FFE provide intrusion detection solutions, including alarm signalling systems, alarm panels, alarm sensors, wireless security intruder alarms, infrared intrusion detectors, automated alarm monitoring services, alarm management systems, false alarm detection systems, Ethernet modules, PIR, motion detectors and many other intrusion alarm products and systems...

FFE provide physical security solutions, including safes, bollards, windows and door security, locks, barriers, locking devices, anti theft products and services, shutters, gates, fencing, anti shoplifting products and many other Physical Security products and systems...
Security systems will ensure a property and everything inside stays safe. Audible and visual alarms would indicate a disturbance in the property or any attempt of break in. A signal can also be sent to a central monitoring station which will then contact the police.

Services Overview - FFE Fire & Security

FFE Fire and Security offer comprehensive services within the fire and security industry. We will survey a premise and say what would be required for a particular system to meet the customer needs and all necessary requirements. We can then design it to exact specifications and produce accurate drawings using our CAD facilities. This means that we can process any order or enquiry quickly and efficiently.
After a job is complete, the system installed has to be tested to see if it works correctly and to the required standards. We carry out full commissioning on all of our work if required.

It is essential that any system is maintained in good working order. For this purpose we offer full maintenance services in the form of periodic services two to four times a year to make sure all systems and components are functioning correctly and comply with all necessary standards. In case of emergencies for our contract customers we offer a 24 hour call out service to attend site and correct any problems.
Small works can also be easily arranged to add to any existing system whether installed by us or not (we also service systems not installed by us if required). This may be because of an extension to a building or change in customers' requirements.

Surveying

We provide a friendly response to all enquiries, and offer a survey service to establish customer's exact requirements. It is very important that we examine your requirements thoroughly, before offering advice or recommending a suitable solution.
We will discuss your budget, survey the premises and provide expert advice on fire risk and safety procedures; we will carry out a fire risk assessment on location to determine what type of system to implement.
Once we are fully aware of your situation, we can specify a customized system and present our solution along with a written explanation and an estimate to undertake the work.

Design (with CAD facilities)

After a survey has taken place or a specification that has all ready been surveyed is received it is necessary to design the system. The exact positioning of every item to be installed is marked out and the system is designed around the number of devices present. Fire zones are calculated and the system is divided between each zone. We design to exact specifications and produce accurate drawings using our CAD facilities.
Supply

FFE Fire and Security are a privately owned, independent company and this gives us freedom of choice when it comes to product supply. We are able to source our products from any manufacturer whether it be a question of preference or job specification we are able to offer the most appropriate and cost effective equipment.

Installation

After the customer is happy with the design installation can commence. We install everything from the Fire Proof Cabling all the way to the Fire Panel and the programming of the system. If you all ready have a Fire Detection System in place then we can replace or upgrade and improve the existing system. All work carried out is in accordance with British Standard 5839.

Commissioning

After a job is complete, the system installed is inspected and tested to verify that it has been appropriately installed. This ensures customer satisfaction and a system conforming to the required standards and to its own specification. Commissioning also includes customer training to show them how the system works and basic operation procedures. Following successful completion certificates are issued to show that it complies with industry standards. We carry out full commissioning on all of our work.

Maintenance

It is essential to maintain any system to ensure that it is in good working order and the possibility of any unrevealed faults are identified. Preventative measures can be taken to ensure the continual reliability of the system. This is also an ideal time to introduce the user to any changes to the system that affect the protection afforded by the system. It is recommended that a system is serviced four times a year.

Periodic maintenance

Periodic services are carried out two to four times a year to make sure everything still works and still complies with all the necessary standards.

Emergency Calls

In case of emergencies we offer a 24 hour call out service for our contract customers to attend site and correct any problems.

Small works

Small works are carried out to add to any existing system whether installed by us or not (we also service any systems not installed by ourselves if required). This may be because of an extension to a building or change in customers' requirements.
